Florida Properties Top Meetings & Conventions Gold Key List
Florida resorts and hotels swept the 2007 Meetings & Conventions Magazine Gold Key Awards. Out of 180 properties honored nationwide, an impressive 58 are located in Florida, the most of any U.S. destination.
The Gold Key Award has been bestowed on the "best of the best" meeting resorts for the past 30 years, based on overall professionalism and quality. The winning properties have been named based on votes by Meetings & Conventions readers, the majority being meeting professionals.
In addition to the Gold Key Winners, the Orlando Marriott World Center Resort & Spa achieved prestigious Gold Elite Status. Gold Elite winners must meet stringent criteria in categories including: staff attitude, quality of meeting rooms, quality of guest services, quality of food and beverage service, proficiency of handling reservations, technical/support equipment and range of recreational facilities.
Gold Hall of Fame winners were honored for receiving the Gold Key Award consecutively since its inception in 1978. Florida winners include: The Boca Raton Resort & Club and The Breakers, Palm Beach. A second Gold Hall of Fame category recognized properties that have earned the Gold Key Award for 12 consecutive years. Florida resorts named in this segment include: Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort, Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, South Seas Island Resort and The Villas of Grand Cypress.
In the CVB category, Tampa Bay and Company was inducted into the Gold Service Hall of Fame; Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc. was named as a Gold Service Elite organization; and Visit Jacksonville, Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau and Palm Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau earned Gold Service awards.
The Gold Service CVB awards are granted to CVBs that have demonstrated professionalism and dedication in their service to Meetings & Conventions readers worldwide.
